NBA star Ben Simmons auctions his Hidden Hills mansion at a break-even price of $17.5M after purchasing it but never using it

Point guard Ben Simmons of the NBA is considering selling his house in Los Angeles, California, this time through an auction.

The home has been on the market since 2022 and is currently listed at $17.495 million. The recently constructed mansion boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 12,000 square feet of living space on a 1.45-acre lot in the Los Angeles area known for its famous residents. The home was completed in 2021 according to the plans drawn out by Nobel LA’s Max Nobel. Luxurious and striking features included a 65-foot pool and a great room that was 40 feet tall. The listing of the property will take place on April 18 on the Concierge Auctions online marketplace, and the auction will end on April 30. The expected range of offers is $7 million to $12 million.

The 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year was Simmons, an Australian native who played point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers and, more lately, the Brooklyn Nets. In addition to his famous relationship with Kendall Jenner, Simmons’s Australian birthplace is worth noting.

“Regrettably, due to my extensive time spent on the East Coast, this beautiful home that I have cherished goes mostly unutilized,” Simmons expressed in a news release. “Now is the moment to move forward.”

A combination of charcoal-colored stonework and vertical pieces of salvaged wood give the house a rugged, manly look from the outside. On the inside, you’ll find a great room that’s two stories tall, has vaulted ceilings, and large windows that look out over the lush courtyard. A striking feature of the living room is the floating brass fireplace, which weighs 6,000 pounds. There is a fireplace that divides the living room from the formal dining room. For individuals who love to entertain, there is a hidden chef’s kitchen that would be perfect for a professional cook, in addition to the modern kitchen. When the weather is nice, nothing beats eating a meal outdoors thanks to the smooth flow of food from the kitchen to the terrace. The two stunning lights by Preciosa Lighting prove without a shadow of a doubt that Simmons has an unmatched eye for beauty.
Every room in the house either directly faces the outside or has a glimpse of it, so you never feel disconnected from nature. There is a Zen garden with a bonsai tree at the top of an open stairway that goes to the upper levels. Also included are a Simmons-designed workout center, a soundproof movie theater, and a pool, veranda, fireplace, and cabana with a video wall and grilling station in the backyard. Extra sleeping quarters, kitchen, pantry, and private infinity plunge pool are available in the guest house that is separate from the main house. The property is encircled by picturesque olive trees.

Listed by Rachel Salgado of The Beverly Hills Estates, who is collaborating with Gregory La Plant and Raynie and Branden Williams, the buyer of this Hidden Hills modern retreat will encounter genuine luxury in every aspect, according to Salgado. Careful consideration to detail is apparent in every area of this property, making it an ideal retreat for entertaining guests or simply unwinding. Immerse yourself in the ultimate living experience with features like as a 65-foot pool and spa, a floor-to-ceiling Italian brass fireplace, an outdoor dining area, and state-of-the-art appliances.
